What this gauge tells you

Between SH 71 and Loop 360, just above the Hill of Life. Barton Creek loses water into the Edwards Aquifer as it flows downstream, so this gauge often reads higher than Loop 360. The difference is roughly how much water the aquifer is absorbing.

Swimming holes that use this gauge

• Hill of Life: Based on the Lost Creek Blvd gauge just upstream. The aquifer often empties the whole creek before Loop 360, so the downstream gauge says nothing about this spot. No tracker publishes a range for this spot, so we use Sculpture Falls’ range.
